Sharny Russell Plus the French Quarter Alligators Review

What a start to a music afternoon!!The FQAs {Willi,Will,John and Rodney}hit the audience between the eyes with a fast and furious “That’s a Plenty”.

SHARNY RUSSELL PLUS THE FRENCH QUARTER ALLIGATORS – 16 June Power Boat Club

This gave each opportunity to strut their stuff with incredible solos including a washboard solo from Willi. The talent this man has!!! Next to calm us, was Grover Washington’s beautiful medium tempo “Winelight” as a special request. This also featured John on guitar. There is no limit to these guys talents!!Sharny was invited on stage and gave a rocking 'I've got the World on a String' followed by “The Surrey with the Fringe on the Top” .

The FQAs followed with their “Yellow Jackets” showpiece “Revelation”- Second set gave Sharny her chance to show her talents with piano and vocals . Her rendition of Blossom Dearie's “Hey John' was a stunner as were “I'm Shadowing You” and “I Like You”. We like you too Sharny!!The boys were now “Refreshed” and came out with Rod singing and swinging Big Joe Willams 'Every Day I have the Blues”and the audience participating with “Choo Choo Cha Boogie”. The Cannonball Adderly “Worksong” was next. This one had the audience and the dancers really jumpin'.

Need I mention the applause every time Will Sargisson plays. An awesome pianist!! As always an afternoon has to end and end it they did. Sharny joined the AFGs for a impromptu “CC Rider”. What a finish. A standing ovation!

Thanks Sharny and the AFGs.
