Who better than the CAXTON STREET JAZZ BAND to finish the Sunshine Coast Jazz Club's final performance for 2019? 40 years young and better than ever, the CSJB continue to play the music we know and enjoy.
Ellington, Armstrong, jazz standards, jazz classics are all given the band's exclusive polished style. How better than John's trumpet solo of Ellington's “Solitude”, Bernice's tearaway singing of Bessie Smith's raucous “Do Your Duty”, Tom's trombone on Ellington's “Black and Tan Fantasy”, Andrew's bowing on “Riverside Blues” and we cannot forget our drummer's washboard solos. Too many songs to mention but the audience knew most and tippietoed on the dance floor. From the opening “Hindustan” to the final “Oh Marie” the music swung.
Thanks again to the Sunshine Coast Jazz Club for a wonderful year of music and again to the CAXTON STREET JAZZ BAND for another great music afternoon.
