On Sunday 18th June at the Power Boat Club the Sunshine Coast Jazz Club soon was in the swing of good time music when MELODY GRAVES &THE HOKUM REDEMPTION swung into action. The oldies “Sweet Sue”, “Comes Love”, and “After You've Gone” were sung with gusto and Melody showed her talents with a washboard on several tunes. The backing group of solid pros set a high standard.
Set 2 opened with a strong “St. James Infirmary Blues”. The floor filled with dancers as Melody and the Hokum Redemption bounced with “I've Got a Right to Sing the Blues” and “Everybody Loves My Baby”. Melody was supported by Richard Ferrari on Trombone, Bayden Mitchell on lead guitar, Dennis Duigan on guitar, mandolin and vocals, Evan J Evans on drums and James Visentin on double bass and they all contributed to a nice afternoon of good listening and good dancing music.
