On Sunday 18th May at the Caloundra Power Boat Club we were Hooked, Line and Sinker by the high swinging 'HOOKED ON SWING'.
The group of 6 talented musicians and vocalists set the mood with Miller's “In The Mood”. That opening led into an old Ozzie classic Billy Fields “Bad Habits”, Harry Connick's “It Had to be You” and “A Wink and a Smile” were roundly applauded as was Eddie's tribute to Acker Bilk's “Stranger on the Shore”.
The floor was soon taken over by our resident dancers!! Cherryn and Dean were sharing the vocals with “Have You Met Miss Jones” and “Que Cera Cera”. The first set finished with a nice “They Can't Take That Away From Me”. A Frankie standard “For Once in My Life” sung by Dean was a great start to the fun filled Prima song “Just a Gigalo”.
Jo Bloomfield knocked us out with those two hands telling us and showing how to play Boogie!! Tom Jones wasn't forgotten when Dean sang three of Tom's classics “She's a Lady” “Delilah”, and “Love Me Tonight”. Cherryn then melted us with a lovely “Killing Me Softly With His Song”. The end always has to arrive. A final “All My Love” finished a music and fun filled afternoon.
Thanks to CHERRYN, TINA, JO, DEAN, TODD, EDDIE for having us ‘HOOKED ON SWING'!
